Apollo Banks’ stepmother (Jennifer White) is a urologist, whose medical practice is run out of her home, and the two of them are often at odds, as his dad exerts strong authority over his son and Apollo feels loyal to his birth mom. But Jennifer wants to be his friend, taking his side when dad argues he should join the military, while she encourages him to continue his education, and consider going to medical school.
